January 1, 2023. Prof. Alice Oh at KAIST has been elected as the SIGDAT VP-Elect.

April 11, 2022. The due date of call for bids to host EMNLP 2023 has been extended to May 31, 2022.

April 6, 2022. The EMNLP 2022 official website and call for papers are now live.

March 10, 2022. We seek preliminary draft proposals from prospective bidders in the relevant regions. Promising bids will be asked to provide additional information for the final selection. For more information about how to bid, please see the call for bids to host EMNLP 2023.

Feburary 21, 2022. We are delighted to announce that EMNLP 2022 will be held December 7-11 in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It will be a hybrid conference and we plan to continue improving the hybrid experience. Our physical venue will be the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre - The local team will be led by Prof. Nizar Habash (NYU Abu Dhabi) and Prof. Eric Xing (MBZUAI). We have accepted 24 workshops and 5 tutorials planned for December 7-8. A demo track and (for the first time at EMNLP) industry track are planned. The program chairs – Yoav Goldberg, Zornitsa Kozareva, and Yue Zhang – will announce our plan for conference submissions soon.

December 21, 2021. Prof. Isabelle Augenstein has been elected as the VP-Elect of SIGDAT 2022.

November 7, 2019. SIGDAT president Dr. Jian Su gave an update on SIGDAT during the closing session of EMNLP-IJCNLP 2019.

November 25, 2018. SIGDAT and AFNLP invite you to participate in the 2019 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP) and 9th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing (IJCNLP) in Hong Kong. EMNLP-IJCNLP 2019 will be held at the Asia World Expo in Hong Kong from November 3-7, 2019.
